FACTORY

Factory was the first advertising agency I worked at. As an Art Director, then being promoted to Senior Art Director, I was given a lot of creative freedom to try new things. Like cartoons. My favorite coworker (sorry everyone else if you’re reading this) was Ella, our Chief Canine Officer. Ella loves cookies. A lot. It’s this love of cookies that sparked an idea and made her the star of self-promotional Christmas story cards, social media cartoon campaigns, and of the hit Christmas single “It’s Not Christmas Without Cookies.” It didn’t stop there – the Ella cartoon soon injected itself into the very DNA of the Factory brand.

As a self-promotional event, we hosted the Factory Big Cab Night. A night of great food, great wine, and great people. While she’s not very keen on doing much, even Ella had to chip in on this one.

HOPDOG

When Hopcat, a local hipster craft beer bar in Michigan, opened a new location within walking distance of our agency, we took the opportunity to grab their attention and create a little free buzz. We created a social media campaign featuring Ella, who took the opportunity to start her own craft beer bar, HopDog, letting them know who was really the big dog in town.
